15 days Watching rift endemics &Uganda Wildlife through Albertine Rift Valley, Lake Mburo park, Mgahinga, Bwindi park & Semliki Park

GO1Arrival at EBB airport where you are received and greeted by company before transferring you to Kampala city. O/N Cassia Hotel/Nexus Resort B/B

GO2: Transfer Lake Mburo,                  

Birding rift endemics start with a transfer to Lake Mburo Park. Birding along Impala track and afternoon boat cruise for water birds
Overnight tented camps:- Muhingo lodge/ Mburo Safari lodge F/B

Species of interest: Red faced barbet, Tabora cisticola,white backed night heron, Rufous belied heron, White winged warbler, Papyrus Gonlek, papyrus canary, African fish eagle, Pied King fisher, Bateuler, Brown snake eagle, etc.

GO 3: Mgahinga Park, Albertine Species

Bird watching around Lake Mburo swamps in the morning and Echuya forest enroute to Mgahinga National park.  Overnight: Bwindi jungle lodge/ Traveler's Rest/Sawasawa guest house – two nights F/B

Albertine Species: Mountain wagtail, Black bee eater, Bar tailed trogon, Regal sunbird, olive pigeon,white tailed ant-thrush, Banded prinia,Mountain capped apalis, Handsome francolin ,Chapin’s flycatcher, sooty flycatcher.

GO4: Rift endemics –Mgahinga  Nationalpark

Watching birds in Mgahinga National Park not only gives an opportunity to see endemics but takes you through different vegetation zones and offers spectacular views of the Volcanoes. Overnight: Bwindi jungle lodge/ Traveler's Rest/Sawasawa guest house – two nights F/B 

Endemic species: Rwezori Turaco, Strage weaver, Archer’s robin chat, Doherty’s bush shrike, White tailed blue flycatcher, Dusky Crimson wing, Red faced woodland warbler.

GO5: To Ruhija, Bwindi forest endemics

Morning, transfer to Ruhija birding through Echuya forest, bamboo zone and Ruhija surrounding in the afternoon. Two nights stay Ruhija Gorilla resort/Bakiga lodge/Broadbill forest camp F/B

Rift Endemics: Regal sun bird, Red faced woodland warbler, Chubb’s cisticola, Short tailed Warbler, Grauer’s Rush Warbler, Rwenzori Batis

GO 6: Mubwindi swamp, swamp specialties

Full day bird watching forest trails down to  Mubwindi swamp in search for forest species and rift endemics.O/N:Ruhija Gorilla resort/Bakiga lodge/Broadbill forest camp F/B

Bwindi bird species: Yellow eyed black flycatcher, African Green broadbill, archer robin chat, Strange weaver , collared apalis, black faced apalis, Rwenzori night jar, Chapin flycatcher, , Rwenzori batis, striped breasted tit, dwarf honey guide.

GO 7: Transfer Buhoma, Bwindi forest species

This morning you will head to Buhoma birding through the Neck and water loop trail in the afternoon.

Bwindi Endemics: Black bee eater, handsome francolin, Ruwenzori turaco, regal sunbird, red throated alethe, kivu ground thrush, short tailed warbler.

GO 8: Gorilla trekking experience

Gorilla tracking is a tough but rewarding exercise, one need to be physical fit as it may be demanding at some point due to elevation gains. For those with extra energy bird the hotel surrounding in the afternoon.O/N Sliverback lodge/Crested Crane two nights F/B

GO 9: Waterfall trail, Bwindi forest trail

Watching Forest birds starts right at the visitor centre, following the road leads you to different forest trails, take up the waterfall trail for a 2-3 hours birding ending at the three waterfalls searching for forest species.

Endemics of Bwindi forest: Chapin flycatcher collared apalis, black faced apalis, yellow eyed black flycatcher, Rwenzori batis, Short tailed warbler, Kivu ground thrush, Purple breasted sunbird, rufous flycatcher.

GO10: To Semliki Reserve, Fort Portal town

Morning transfer to Fort Portal town through Ishasha sector searching for tree climbing lions.
Check in at a booked hotel late afternoon. O/N  Ntoroko Lodge/Fort motel two nights F/B

GO11: In Semliki Reserve, Semliki forest

Birding Lake Albert for shoebill stork and water birds this morning take a boat and bird the waters of Lake Albert for water birds and swamp species. Return and drive down the Valley of Semliki National Park, Visit Ssepaya hot springs and later drive to Bundibunjo town for your night stay

GO12: In Semliki Park, Semliki rarities

Go Watch birds in Semliki forest: return early morning for a full day’s trip using Kirumia trail, the birding offers you opportunities to see rarities and other species of the Ituri forest. Return and drive to Fort portal for dinner and over night. O/N Kibale forest cottages/Chimpanzee guest House  F/B

Bird species: Spot breasted ibis, long tailed hawk, Nkulengu rail, piping horn bill, red billed dwarf horn bill, black dwarf hornbill, African piculet, lyte-tailed honey guide, red rumped tinker bird, yellow throated nicator, Sassi’s olive greenbul, fiery breasted bush shrike, forest scrub robin.

GO13: To Kibale Forest, Bigodi Swamp

Bird watching in Bigodi swamp not only for swamp specialties but also have opportunities to watch 8 species of primates namely the blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey, red tailed colubus, white and black colobus, L’Hoest monkey, vervet monkey and Olive baboons.O/N Kibale forest cottages/Chimpanzee guest House  F/B

Magombe swamp species: Red tailed bristle bill, white collared olive back, yellow billed barbet, white napped pigeon, grey winged warbler, black billed turaco, papyrus canary, white winged warbler, blue shouldered robin chat, white spotted flufftail and red winged francolin.

GO 14: In Kibale Forest, Primate walk

Kibale forest not only gives you excellent birding opportunities but is famous for Chimpanzee tracking and chimpanzee habituation experience has the highest numbers of primates therefore offers primate walk activities. Watching birds in Kibale forest is along Ngogo road, the main road ending at Dura Bridge and in the forest trails. O/N Kibale forest cottages/Chimpanzee guest House  F/B 

Key species: Bar tailed tragon, fine banded wood pecker, red faced crimson wing, Nahan’s Francolin, Africa Pitta etc

GO15: End of Safari

Transfer to Entebbe or Kampala as you may wish.
